My visual art projects

Watercolor on Canvas

Often, my mentality with art has been to sit down and start. With this project, I knew that I was going to put it off forever if I did not start immediately. I went to the store, got a canvas, picked out the right watercolors, and drew up a grid that matched my reference photo. I spent hours on a pencil sketch up, and began painting. Only then did I realize that watercolor was not meant for canvas… Through painstaking trial and error with this painting, I found a way to work the paint in the ways I wanted to. My brother paid me to complete this picture of Sharon Tate for him.

Watercolor, not on Canvas

My girlfriend and I have been semi-long distance for years. While we were apart from each other, I drafted up a Picsart edit of us together in a nature scene and sent it to her. Later, as a gift to her, I painted the picture with watercolor (this time on watercolor paper).

Charcoal

I began to discover that one of my favorite mediums to do visual art by is Charcoal. I like to use reference photos, and I like to meticulously take my time. Charcoal is a perfect medium for this, in my opinion, because the artist has freedom to erase many initial errors.

Charcoal

A world religions professor I took classes from made a deep impact on my life. As a thank you, I drew this picture of a statue in charcoal for him.

Older projects in Watercolor

I have a number of projects, but I generally enjoy making music more. I enjoy learning about myself as an artist through all mediums, but I’ve found that I create music the most.
